County Administrator Joey Preston and County Controller Gina Smith presented the Fiscal Year 2023 recommended annual budget to the Bamberg County Council on Monday, May 16.
The proposed Bamberg County budget for FY2023, which begins on July 1, includes a decrease in property taxes by 3.5 mills. The budget also features increased funding of nine fire departments and the construction of the Holman's Bridge Fire Station, a cost of living increase for county employees, the purchase of the latest public safety equipment, and expanded support of Denmark Technical College.
