Sumter County Sheriff’s Office announces start of Citizens Academy classes on March 24

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office announced on March 9 that its Citizens Academy classes will begin on Tuesday night, March 24. The office said that registration is still open for those interested in participating.

The Citizens Academy offers community members an opportunity to learn more about the operations and responsibilities of the sheriff’s office. These classes are designed to foster better understanding and communication between law enforcement and residents.
