10.8% of Clarendon County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Clarendon County recorded an unemployment rate of 10.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,379 people out of the 31,613 living in Clarendon County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Clarendon County has decreased compared to the 11.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Clarendon County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 11,443 people who had a job during that time, 46 were employed in the Armed Forces and 11,397 belonged to the civilian labor force.
