Freshwater Volunteer HYBRID Workshop

SC Adopt-a-Stream seeks to educate SC residents about impacts on water quality and habitat and collect baseline, non-regulatory data on the health of our waterways. In providing baseline information about stream conditions, volunteers, local communities, educators, and local government agencies can partner to protect and restore our waters.

You don't need to be an environmentalist, fisherman, or scholar to join this effort. All are welcome to join a workshop to become certified and add to the knowledge base of river health here in South Carolina!

This FREE workshop will prepare you to collect water quality data in freshwater streams. Part 1 will be a live webinar 11/2/22 beginning at 9am with opportunities for questions and answers. Part 2 follows with in-field certification with SC AAS Trainers in multiple areas of the state. Field certification will include hands-on sampling and testing, as well as open-book exam. Those seeking recertification are also invited to attend, if not taking the online course in November.

Part 2 Field Locations and dates are as follows:

Columbia - November 10th 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm (Thursday)

Anderson - November 15th 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (Tuesday)

Greenville - November 18th 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (Friday)

Clemson - November 22nd 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm (Tuesday)

Columbia - November 30th 9:30 am - 12:30 pm (Wednesday)

Thank you, SC AAS Trainers, for offering these events!

When registering, you must register for both Part 1 and 2. If Part 2 is not offered in a location convenient to you, please email Sierra Hylton to identify potential alternative arrangements.
