Join representatives from the Clemson Extension FNR team, the US Forest Service, and the SC Forestry Commission for a day-long bus tour of the forest management practices implemented in the life cycle of a pine forest, from planting to forest maturity.
Tour stops will include:
- An active timber harvesting operation
- 1-year-old artificially regenerated stand
- Young forest stands approaching canopy closure
- Stands ready to be thinned
- Thinned and prescribed burned stands
Two locations will be available for participants to board the bus:
8:15 a.m. Columbia, SC
9:00 a.m. Newberry, SC
Registration includes lunch.
