Clemson Extension School & Community Gardening presents the 2022 School Gardening Summer Series: Discover the Champions of the Environment Grant
Join Amanda Ley, Coordinator for the Champions of the Environment Grant Program, SCDHEC Bureau of Water to discover how you and your students can tap into the Champions of the Environment Grant Program!
Champions of the Environment awards grants to K-12 teachers and students to carry out environmental projects that protect the natural world and boost environmental awareness. Grants of up to $2,500 each are awarded annually and runners-up may also receive funding to get their projects started! The application period opens on August 1 and closes on September 30. Winners will be announced in October!
The Primary Project Coordinator should be a teacher or school group leader but may list a Secondary Project Coordinator as an environmental education leader such as a Master Gardener or other volunteer.
Funded projects should be:
- student-driven;
- sustainable;
- include a strong community outreach component;
- include volunteers and other support;
- clearly state how funds will be used.
