With service in 47 states, 14 million customers, 5 million daily pickups and 71 recycling processing centers, Republic Services is getting it done! And they’re giving back too! With their Committed to Serve initiative, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the 35,000 employees remained in the field as essential service providers, doing an exceptional job taking care of customers and communities. That’s why they launched a $50 million dollar initiative—called Committed to Serve—to recognize their amazing frontline team and small businesses at the heart of local economies. Here are the actual distribution numbers: Through Committed to Serve, they've provided $3 million to three national nonprofit partners, which funded grants to 29 local affiliates for small business revitalization projects. This money helps provide resources to local small businesses that are committed to serving their neighborhoods. They’ve given $11 million in gift cards to front line employees, $6 million to local restaurants for meals for employees and their families, $14 million ($500 each) to 28,000 front line employees and $17 million in year end rewards to employees and staff.
