Of the 2,249 people living in South Sumter in 2020, 57.9 percent (1,302) were women and 42.1 percent (947) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the SC Midland News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 317. In the 65 and over age range, there were 198 females and 139 males.
