36

Central Carolina Technical College issued the following announcement on March 21.

Central Carolina Technical College student Brandon Mitchum has been asked to join South Carolina’s 2022 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-State Academic Team. Thirty-nine students from 15 colleges within the South Carolina Technical College System were named to the 2022 All-State Academic Team.

Mitchum is currently pursuing an associate degree in Management and is an active member of the CCTC Beta Eta Pi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He is also the project manager of CCTC’s NASA MINDS 2022 Solar Array Competitive Project and a CCTC Foundation Scholarship recipient. “I admire the variety of learning opportunities offered at CCTC,” says Mitchum. “Not only does the Advisement and Support Center provide valuable resources to every current or potential student, but they also help students’ paths to success. I believe that quality education is necessary to achieve one’s goals in today’s society.”

Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of the two-year college, conducts a program each year to honor outstanding students from technical, junior and community colleges nationwide. South Carolina’s team members have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and an impressive record of service to their colleges.

PTK’s mission is to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and to provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
