The Lee County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on November 20.
Happy Friday everyone! We're excited to bring back our ornament decorating contest this year! It will work similarly to last year's contest. We'll provide the ornaments, your kiddos (ages 12 and under) take them home and decorate them in any way they wish, get creative!. Then, submit a picture of the final, decorated product no later than 9pm on December 20th. Voting is done by "liking" a picture. The number of "likes" for each submission on December 22nd at 9pm will determine the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. THERE IS ONE THING DIFFERENT THIS YEAR: YOUR FIRST CHANCE TO GET THE BLANK ORNAMENTS WILL BE AT THE LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE ON DECEMBER 11TH IN DOWNTOWN BISHOPVILLE. After that, they will be available at the Chamber office. Like last year, the ornaments are wooden discs and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. This year's prizes will be announced closer to the parade date.
