Cost of college went up for all students at Central Carolina Technical College

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.9 percent for 2018-19 at Central Carolina Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina residents paid $6,035 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $228 more than the $5,807 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 41.1 percent more than residents this year, or $8,518. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 2.7 percent from $8,298 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are South Carolina residents.

Data shows 97 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 531 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.2 million and 110 students took out student loans totaling more than $445,971.

Including all undergraduates (3,550), 3,348 students used grants or scholarships totaling $13 million, and 1,022 students took out $4.8 million in federal student loans.
