63 percent of applicants to the University of South Carolina-Sumter were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of South Carolina-Sumter, 82 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 54 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The two-year public institution in Sumter enrolled 1,110 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. 10.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

93 percent of undergraduates are residents of South Carolina, and 5 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (60 percent) and Black or African American (22 percent).

The school admitted 63 percent of the 860 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 47 percent enrolled.
