The South Carolina State softball team secured a 2-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference series victory over North Carolina Central, according to an April 26 announcement. The games took place at Thomas Brooks Park in Durham, North Carolina.

This result brings South Carolina State’s overall record to 20-19 and their conference record to 12-9, tying them for third place in the league standings. The outcome of this series is significant as it strengthens the team’s position heading into the final stretch of regular season play.

In Game 1, South Carolina State recorded a season-high with 17 runs on 14 hits, including five doubles and one triple. Several players contributed multiple runs and hits during this opening win. Game 2 saw the Lady Bulldogs score ten runs with twelve hits, highlighted by two doubles, two triples, and a home run. In the final game of the series, South Carolina State lost to NC Central by a score of 7-10 but still managed thirteen hits as a team.

Looking ahead, South Carolina State will conclude its regular season against Southeastern Conference opponent South Carolina on Tuesday, April 28 in Columbia at 6:00 p.m.

South Carolina State University participates at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I level across fourteen sports teams. Most teams compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
