The South Carolina State Bulldogs men’s tennis team ended its season on May 1 with a 4-0 defeat against the fifteenth-ranked Central Florida in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.

This match concluded a successful season for South Carolina State, which finished with a 13-8 overall record. The team also secured its sixth consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship and the twenty-first conference title in school history.

Head coach Hardeep Judge has led both the men’s and women’s programs to a combined thirty-six league championships and over seven hundred career wins since his arrival. Judge’s leadership has been noted as key to building what is described as a dynasty within the conference.

In singles play during Friday’s match, Central Florida won matches at positions five and six in straight sets, while other matches were left unfinished or ended due to retirement. In doubles competition, Central Florida claimed victories at positions one and three, securing the doubles point early in the contest.

Central Florida improved its record to 21-6 following this result. The Bulldogs’ performance this year continues their strong presence within MEAC tennis but marks an early exit from national tournament play.
