Eight South Carolina State softball players were named to the 2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball All-Academic team, the league announced on May 6.

The MEAC recognized a total of 83 student-athletes from its eight member institutions for their academic achievements during the 2025-26 academic year. The honor is given to sophomore, junior, and senior student-athletes who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Transfer student-athletes are also eligible if they have been in residence at their institution for at least one year.

The announcement highlights academic success among athletes in addition to their athletic contributions. The full list includes honorees from Coppin State, Delaware State, Howard University, Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State, Norfolk State, North Carolina Central, and South Carolina State.

South Carolina State’s eight honorees join peers across the conference in being recognized for balancing academics with athletics. Other schools had between nine and fourteen students named to the list.

This recognition underscores the importance placed on academic achievement within collegiate athletics and demonstrates that students are excelling both on and off the field.
