Cost of education increases for all Morris College students in 2022-23 school year

Tuition at Morris College rose by 2% for the 2022-23 academic year, as revealed in the latest report, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Students enrolled at the four-year private nonprofit institution paid $15,758 this year, an increase of $308 from the $15,450 charged in the 2021-22 academic year.

Approximately 76% of the undergraduate student body at Morris College are residents of South Carolina, while about 24% come from other states.

Data indicates that 98% of full-time undergraduates who began studies at Morris College in 2022-23 received some form of student financial aid. A total of 112 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $1 million, and 82 students obtained student loans exceeding $461,600.

Across all undergraduates, 374 students benefited from grants or scholarships totaling $4.9 million. Additionally, 309 students secured $2 million in federal student loans.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
